Job Description
Manage and oversee the daily operations of small accounting department staff while also working with your assigned client base. Building relationships with multiple clients and managing numerous deadlines is paramount to this position. Some of the expected tasks include (but not limited to) the following:
  • accounts payable/receivable
  • monthly, quarterly & year-end closing process
  • general ledger
  • payroll processing and reporting
  • 1099 and W-2 processing
  • revenue and expenditure variance analysis
  • cash forecasting and monitoring
  • capital assets review and maintenance
  • trust account statement reconciliations
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Provide management recommendations to clients
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Meet accounting department billing objectives
  • Proven working experience managing people
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office and QuickBooks
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct and supervise
  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance
