A Chance to Learn will host a Drives FORE Dreams Golf Classic for Kids and Their Grow Ups. The vision of the Drives FORE Dreams is to allow kids and their families to participate in golf through instruction and healthy competition. The fresh summer air, the crisp, clean greens, and the buzz of bugs down the fairway spell paradise for a golfer. While most kids play Tiger Woods video games, you and your child will be standing on a golf course participating in a fun tourney benefiting A Chance to Learn’s Camp S.M.A.R.T. Kid, a summer learning camp for children with Autism. The kids are given a swag bag, a colorful golf ball, a bag of treats, fresh fruit, cool water, and a new T-shirt. They are placed in teams with their grownups, other kiddos, and their grownups, and they head out for a shotgun start. Sometimes it takes more than the maximum allowed shots to get the ball into the hole on the green, but today isn’t about keeping score, it’s about being kids and having fun. After the round is over, the kids, along with their grownups, head to the Clubhouse for awards and a great dinner.
