This year the gala will be bigger than years prior with a fundraising goal of $80,000. Our beneficiary this year is "The Gatehouse". If you haven't heard of them, let me fill you in! They do AMAZING work creating a supportive living community for women — whether single or with children — leaving a crisis, such as abuse, poverty, homelessness, tragic divorce or other reasons. The Gatehouse creates a community where women and children end cycles of abuse and poverty and discover new paths for permanent and positive change! Residents of The Gatehouse work through a unique program at their own pace. The individually-tailored plan empowers them to address and heal from trauma, and transition into independence physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. Some of the resources provided to them include food, clothes, transportation, medical/dental, childcare, professional counseling, life skills training, education, career development guidance, and financial literacy training.
